So today’s race was the middle school small-schools championship for eastern Maine. And I continue to have camera issues with my small point and shoot–it does a great job on everything–except sports. I did finally read the manual today and did some experimenting, so believe it or not the pictures I took today are a big improvement over the last time I used this camera for a race (I would have used my “big” camera, but it rained all day and I didn’t want to risk getting it wet).
Results: All Saints (Margaret’s school): Boys-Runners-Up, Girls-Champions!
Margaret was 4th overall, beat her arch rival (name withheld) by a stride, and achieved a PR (personal record) of a 6:54 mile split–her first under 7 minute mile pace!
Very proud of Margaret for hitting that sub 7 pace….I know sub 6 will be following soon
The ASCS girls and boys ran well, it was a treat to watch them. The paces for our medal winners in this race would place them (many are seventh graders) in the top 50 X-C ranks for high school runners.
Hopefully I’ll catch a race this spring!
wow…Margie is getting pretty fast!
